(August 27, 2009) Faculty of education, faculty members and staff met recently at the whistle of the 2009-2010 school year. The meeting served as a way to introduce those new to College, recognize those who have received prizes and promotions and to be reminded of the objectives of the College over the next year.
After viewing the video experience London, Joe Pacha, Chair of the College of Education Council, welcomed the group. Dean Deborah Curtis introduced the new Associate Dean for evaluation and education, Amee Adkins. Provost Sheri Noren Everts shared statistics and information on the current student body.

Those promoted to professor include Tom Crumpler (C &), Darrell Kruger (C & I), and Zeng Lin (EAF). These teachers and promoted to associate professor include: Greg Michie (C &), Dianne Gardner (EAF), Joe Pacha (EAF) and Julia Stoner (SED). At the schools of the University laboratory, Vicki Graziano (UHS) and Lynn Shook (TMS) became Chair.
Dean Deborah Curtis shared his thoughts and discussed progress on College education plan. She shared the objectives of the plan and highlighted three issues that have been generated by it: partnerships, technology and data.
She reminded the group that the College of Education was involved in several partnerships, including:
Curtis stated that it is a priority, head of the College continue to infuse the most updated technology in our curriculum. She highlighted some of our pockets of technological excellence:
To further facilitate the assimilation of technology in our curricula and culture of the College, has announced the appointment of Ken Fansler Dean Assistant for educational technology.
In discussing the topic, she shared the College of Education has more surveys with multiple sets of data available. Will use this information to improve our understanding and improvement of current programs and education, as well as ways to support our students.
In summary, Curtis announced that she and College Council Chair Pacha will be visiting faculty members to discuss the objectives of the five-year plan to advance the Mission of the College. She concluded her remarks by thanking his colleagues and praising them for their contributions. "We have suspended students, we have talented faculty, we have this incredible platform ... Wait to get into all this. "
The meeting moved to the introduction of Stacy Eight, the exceptional teacher training College of the year. The meeting concluded with the presentation, "thoughts of any consequence: Epiphany, and the value of the wandering mind."
