(August 13, 2009) Ken Fansler was appointed Assistant Dean for educational technology in College of Education. Under the supervision of Dean Deborah Curtis, Fansler will be responsible for the promotion and support of educational technology within the College. He will work closely with faculty, Department chairs, deans and associate campus leadership to improve the educational use and technology planning; plays a key role in advancing online education course, hybrid and advanced Web College level; work with partner schools PK-12 and peer universities and schools of education; and represent the Board on technology planning committees, internal and external.
Since 1994, Fansler served as Director of technology services for the College of Education. During his tenure, he oversaw the expansion of technology services beyond traditional technical support at the forefront of teaching, learning and enriched communications technology initiatives that improve the college's strategic plan. In addition, he was the mentor of support staff to obtain technology leadership roles within its Division and campus.
