Clesson receives High School Teacher of Excellence Award

(August 28, 2009) Kathy Clesson, teacher of English, University High School has been selected to receive the High School teacher of Excellence Award from the Illinois Association of teachers of English. The award, sponsored by the section of the National Council of teachers of English (NCTE), will be presented during the NCTE Conference in Philadelphia, Penn., this November.

Clesson was laboratory schools with Illinois State University from 1980. Currently, she serves as Chair of the Department of English High School, University and coordinator of clinical experiences, Classroom observations, management of the candidates Illinois was a teacher at the high school. She sponsors creative writing Club, which oversees the award-winning, student literary magazine, Brome and beyond. In addition, Clesson is National Board Certified teacher, a teacher of high school Illinois virtual, who designed two virtual English classes and was an instructor in the Department of Curriculum & education at Illinois State.
